A Fun 2nd Sick Day Morning

Despite having strep (Ashton) that came with an ugly body rash, Ashton and I have had a wonderful two days together. He spent the morning, rearranging and organizing, and since the weather was so beautiful, we went for a nature walk & bike ride, followed by a nap, ahhh.

The Harbor

Ashton had so much fun this weekend at the Harbor. He had a blast just running and screaming at the not-at-all-crowded Hilton Bella Harbor in Rockwall. Although it was chilly and there was no sun, he had the best time ever! We ate at Gloria's before hand with my parents and siblings.

Our Little Cowboy

Ashton LOVES to put on anyone's shoes in addition to his own. He especially like Dustin's and my shoes which are bigger and tries so hard to get around with them. It's so cute to watch! I took some bridal pictures for Dustin's cousin and here are the boots she brought along... with a cute little boy in them, haha!

Texas Rangers & Kettle Corn

We went to a Rangers game on Saturday night with my brother, Stephen, something we hadn't done in over a year since Ashton was 6 months old.  Here are a few pictures to document the night.  This was Ashton's first time to experience the loveliness of Kettle Korn.  Yum...

Maestro

Ashton LOVES to play on the piano. I hope to be able to give him piano lessons soon, or at least have him used to the piano. I took lessons as a kid, although I didn't start until 3rd grade, but very much enjoyed them and still play a little today. I do NOT perform by any means, but I enjoy it like Ashton seems to enjoy it.

Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

This recipe is borrowed from Dustin's Aunt Bobette and makes wonderful cookies!  I brought two dozen along with us this past weekend and they were gone very quickly!

Here is the recipe :)!

Ingredients:
1 c.    Sugar
1 c.    Light Brown Sugar
1 1/2  Sticks butter (preferred) OR 12 tsp. tub butter/margarine
1/2 c. Creamy Peanut Butter
2        Large Eggs
2 tsp.  Vanilla Extract
2 1/4 c. All Purpose Flour
1 tsp.    Baking Soda
1/2 tsp. Salt
1/2 bag  Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips (preferred) OR Milk Chocolate Chips

Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.  In a large mixing bowl, combine sugar, brown sugar and butter sticks until light and fluffy.  Add in peanut butter and mix until all ingredients are nicely blended.  Add eggs, mixing one in at a time, then add vanilla extract and mix until smooth.  In another bowl mix all dry ingredients together: flour, baking soda and salt.  Sift dry ingredients into the cookie batter in 3 to 4 sections.  Add chocolate chips and mix until evenly blended.  Spoon onto cooking stone with a Tablespoon about 2 inches apart and cook for 10-11 minutes or until golden brown.
